    Low pitch g'.  May also be tuned to modern pitch f '.
    String length: 67.3 cm / 142.3 cm.
    Stringing: 1 x 1, 5 x 2 / 8 x 1
Based on the archlute by Magno dieffopruchar, Venice c. 1615, in the Vienna
Kunsthistorischesmuseum (C45).
The back is of 31 striped yew ribs with black-dyed poplar spacers.  Triple rose with decorative knot, nine tied frets on the neck.  Ebony-veneered neck, and ebony veneers on the front and back surfaces of the upper extension.   Fingerboard, points and edge binding of ebony.  Bass courses strung in gut.

    String length: 67.3 cm / 142.3 cm.
    Stringing: 1 x 1, 5 x 2 / 8 x 1
Based on the same Magno dieffopruchar archlute as the above instrument (Vienna C45), but with the number of ribs on the back reduced to 17.
The back may be made of either striped yew, dark yew with sycamore spacers, or Honduran rosewood with holly or English boxwood spacers.  Single rose with carved decorative knot,   9 tied frets on the neck.  Ebony-veneered neck, and ebony veneers on the front and back surfaces of the upper extension.   Fingerboard, points and edge binding of ebony.  Bass courses strung in gut.
